What is Machining Investment Casting ?

Machining is the process used to cut and manipulate raw material ( Investment Casted Parts) for a finished product. It is a great way to ensure precision for unique shapes. Metalworkers use cutting, drilling, forming, grinding, and more to create final machined investment castings that are durable and accurate details.

What is PVD Coating ?

PVD (physical vapor deposition) coating, also known as thin-film coating, is a process in which a solid material is vaporized in a vacuum and deposited onto the surface of a part. These coatings are not simply metal layers, though. Instead, compound materials are deposited atom by atom, forming a thin, bonded, metal or metal-ceramic surface layer that greatly improves the appearance, durability, and/or function of a part or product.

What is Polishing ?

Polishing and buffing are finishing processes for smoothing a workpiece's surface using an abrasive and a work wheel or a leather strop. Technically, polishing refers to processes that uses an abrasive that is glued to the work wheel, while buffing uses a loose abrasive applied to the work wheel.

What is Manganese Phosphate Coating ?

Manganese phosphate is used to improve the smooth functions of engines, gears and power transmission systems. It has such an enhanced resistance to corrosion that it is used throughout the metal and motor industry for breaks, washers, nuts and bolts, magnet cores and more.

What is Electropolishing ?

Electropolishing, or anodic polishing, is an electrochemical process that uses electricity to remove a thin layer from the surface of electrically conductive metals. The removal of this thin layer improves the metal’s surface roughness as well as its corrosion resistance. The finished products look shiny and clean as the discolouration and/or embedded foreign materials from previous processes are eliminated.

Electropolishing can remove up to 40 micrometres from a surface, depending on the process parameters. But typically, electropolishing is used to remove between 8 and 20 micrometres.

What is Nickel/Chrome Plating ?

What Does Nickel Chrome Plating Mean? Nickel chrome plating is the most common plating technique that utilizes nickel and chromium electrodeposits to form a multiple-layered finish on a substrate. The motorcycle and automobile industries use this process to achieve a shiny and glossy appearance on their parts.

What is Powder Coating ?

Powder Coating is a dry finishing process created by an electric charge that causes a dry powder to fuse to the surface of the metal. This is then baked in a curing oven to achieve a smooth coating. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint.

What is Blackening ?

The chemical blackening process is the result of a chemical reaction between the ferrous metal and the oxidizing salts and involves the blackening of steel. A chemical reaction occurs between the steel and the black oxide coating, causing the jet-black finish.

What is Laser Marking ?

The chemical blackening process is the result of a chemical reaction between the ferrous metal and the oxidizing salts and involves the blackening of steel. A chemical reaction occurs between the steel and the black oxide coating, causing the jet-black finish.

What is Painting on Castings ?

When metal paint is used, it forms a layer of protection that prevents corrosion. It may not be that thick, but it is a dependable layer that prevents outside chemicals from interacting with the steel. Therefore, ensuring your metal projects are more durable in the long run.
